Upon embarking on a journey to the region with a relief organization in 2001 to support the community of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lee & Penny Anderson fused their empathy with their passion for the sea, culture, and cuisine to establish Korta Katarina. Their deep affection for Croatia, its people, and appreciation for maritime history served as the inspiration following a humanitarian mission in post-war Croatia.
Hotel Katarina, previously known as Hotel Indijan, has recently become the newest addition to the prestigious Korta Katarina Collection. Acquired in early 2024, this boutique hotel is now undergoing a comprehensive renovation and upgrade in preparation for its grand opening in Summer 2025.
Lee & Penny were regular visitors to this hotel while working on the development and construction of their Relais & Chateaux Villa & Winery nearby. The unforgettable moments they shared here played a pivotal role in the refurbishment of this charming hotel. Their visits served as a source of inspiration, igniting a passion for preserving the historic charm and elegance, ultimately shaping its future for generations to come.
